About
A calm, encouraging place to fall in love with music
Hello, I am Robert Howard, a multi-instrumentalist with decades of teaching behind me. I teach mainly piano and drums - jazz, classical and contemporary - up to Grade 8 and far beyond, alongside guitar, bass, singing, theory, composition and music production.
I have taught children for many years and find it some of the most rewarding work there is. Lessons are patient, friendly and tailored to you: confidence first, then skills, then the pieces you cannot wait to play. Whether you want to pass an exam or simply enjoy making music, you are very welcome here.
Lessons happen in my dedicated music room in [Town], or I can travel to you. Parents are always welcome to stay.

Questions parents and students ask
What ages do you teach?
Everyone from age 5 upwards - young children, teenagers and adults, including complete beginners and returning players.
Do you teach adults and complete beginners?
Absolutely. Many students start from scratch as adults. Lessons are relaxed and go at your pace.
Exams, or just for fun?
Whichever you prefer. Lessons can work towards graded exams (ABRSM, Trinity, RSL/Rockschool) up to Grade 8 and beyond, or simply for the enjoyment of playing.
Where do lessons take place?
In my dedicated music room in [Town], or I can travel to your home within about [X] miles. Lessons are in person only.
Do you offer online lessons?
No - I teach in person only, which works best for real progress.
What do we need at home?
Ideally something to practise on between lessons. I am happy to advise on a first keyboard, digital piano or practice pad - just ask.

Please get in touch by phone or message for current rates and availability - I am always happy to talk it through.
Is it safe for my child?
